Advantages of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries in solar
applications
Battery Life. Lithium iron phosphate batteries have a lifecycle two to four
times longer than lithium-ion. This is in part because the lithium
iron phosphate option is more stable at high temperatures, so they
are resilient to over charging. Additionally, lithium iron
phosphate batteries can be stored for longer periods of time
without degrading.
Safety. Perhaps the strongest argument for lithium iron phosphate
batteries over lithium ion is their stability and safety. In solar
applications, where batteries are often housed in residences or in
close proximity to highly occupied office buildings, safety is an
extremely important factor to consider.
Because lithium iron phosphate batteries have a lower energy
density than the lithium-ion type, a LiFePO4 battery has to be
larger than an Li-ion battery to hold the same amount of energy.
However the trade off for space is that the chemistry is

Q6.Can we put 48V LiFePO4 battery pack in parallel or series by
ourself?
A6:Yes. The battery can be put in parallel by customers. But there
are few tips we need to pay attention:
1> Make sure the voltage of each battery are same before put
inparallel. If they are not same, charge them to the same rate;
2> Do not put discharged battery and undischarged battery in
parallel. This may reduce the capacity of the whole battery pack;
3> Do not put the 12V batteries in series.
4> If you are not professional in parallel batteries, please
don't handle the battery by yourself. It may cause danger and hurt
the cycle life of battery;
5> If you want to make a higher capacity battery pack, like 48V
200Ah, please order 48V 200AH directly. The cost for one 48V 200AH
is lower than two 48V 100AH pack. To charge or discharge one 48V
200Ah directly is better than to charge or discharge two 48V 100AH
packs, cycle life longer, safer.
